Square 3.5" pots
Daisy like flowers bloom profusely on this tough little annual. Flowers in colors of yellow, orange, red, pink and even white with paint brush strokes of pink or purple, or yellow flowers with red stripes.
Gazania thrives on sunshine, and loves the heat. When first planted water until her roots take hold and then she’s somewhat drought tolerant. Overwatering makes her weak and shade makes her leggy.
I like Gazania in pots for a spot of color anywhere sitting in a garden. She is also great planted in the garden. By the light of day she smiles all day long but come nightfall she closes up to rest so she can wake in the morning and be beautiful again. She takes advantage of napping on overcast rainy days closing her petals to wait for the rain to pass.
Gazania is what we call a self cleaner meaning it isn’t necessary to deadhead spent blooms however, if you enjoy deadheading go ahead do it. I always think any plant feels better and performs better giving even more blooms when pampered a bit. Be sure to cut the entire stem down don’t just pinch off flowers. An easy plant for children to grow and care for too. We like Gazania.... you will too!
